Application

The Optical Cable Closure is intended to accommodate the optical fiber fusion splice section and its excess fiber safely and efficiently at the optical cable trunk joint point or branching joint point and lastly protect the exposed optical fiber against water and external force.

Performance

No additional loss could be inspected after the spliced fiber had been hold in splice tray.

The splice points of fibers are protected with heat-shrink sleeves.

Metal strengthen core of cables can be electrically connected or disconnected.

The sealed closure with 60Kpa air pressure in it could withstand 2000N axial pulling force, no air leakages and no damages.

While the closure have been sealed with 60Kpa air in it, repeat bending the mounted cable from fight to left and bending back 10 times in angle 30° in one plane, no air leaking out.

Repeat twisting the fiber optic cable in 90°and twisting back 10 times in one plane while the closure have been sealed with 60Kpa air in it, no air leaking out.

A steel ball of 1kg falling from 1.6m high over top of sealed closure, the cases were internally pumped 60Kpa air, no air leaking out, no damages have been done to the case shell.

Air tightness:

The internal 100kpa air pressure remains no change within 24 hours after the closure has been sealed.

Insulation resistance:

Test temperature: 20 ± 3℃.

Test voltage: 500V DC

Insulation resistance: 5 × 104 M Ω between metal piece of closure and earth; 5 × 104 M Ωbetween metal piece of closure and cable.

Dielectric strength:

Test temperature: 20 ± 3℃.

Test voltage: 500V DC

Dielectric strength: 15KV DC, I minute between metal piece of closure and earth; 15KV DC, 1 minute between metal piece of closure and cable.

The sealed closure can be re-entered
