Fresnel lense is one of the key components of CPV(Concentration photovoltaic) and TPV(thermal photovoltaic) system. It faces to the sun light vertically, and concentrates the sun ray onto a small receiver(high performance solar cell), CPV generates more than 30% electricity than conventional FPV(flat photovoltaic).

在光学系统中，应用菲涅尔透镜的作用就是将光线从相对较大的区域面积转换成相当小的面积上，这种透镜也被称做集光器或聚光器。

在太阳聚光领域，菲涅尔透镜是聚光太阳能系统（CPV)中重要的光学部件之一。太阳菲涅尔透镜聚光镜就是，透镜的焦点刚好落在太阳能芯片上。当透镜面垂直接面向太阳时，光线将会被聚焦在电池片上，汇聚了更多的能量，因而需要较小的电池片面积，大大节约了成本。

应用菲涅尔透镜能够将太阳光聚焦到入光面1/10至1/1000甚至更小的接收面（高性能电池片）上，比传统平板光伏（FPV)发电效率提高30％以上，满足太阳能聚光发电（CPV)和聚热系统（TPV)中高能量高温需求。
